BUHARI DOES NOT HATE IGBOS - FEMI ADESINA.

The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity has said pointedly that President Buhari has not whether in the past or present hated or hates the Igbos as speculated in certain quarters. This clarification was made when he participated on Friday in phone-in program of Radio Continental 102.3fm during the Sunrise Paper Review that takes place from Monday to Friday weekly. On the allegation that the President has suspended the construction of Second Niger Bridge and has also implemented the harsh forex policies aimed at stifling business interests of the IGBOS, the Special Adviser debunked both allegations and explained that the budget of 2016 contains a provision for the construction of the Second Niger Bridge which was used for political ends by the PDP led administration for the last sixteen years while the forex policies are being addressed to relax its harsh effect where necessary pointing out that it was not targeted at any group but put in place due economic realities in NIGERIA.
On the issue of increase in tariff on energy consumption which is billed to take effect from February this year, the Special Adviser promised the panelist that he will personally take it up with the Minister of Power Mr Tunde Fashola SAN since Nigerians are clamoring that all houses be metered before the so called increase to avoid the abuse of the estimated bill system that is presently being used to defraud Nigerians by the DISCOS. He also promised to ensure that Mr Tunde Fashola participate in the phone-in program anytime we are ready for him.
Concerning contract staffing and outsourcing of jobs presently being used by Employers to abuse Employees in the labour industry, the Special Adviser also promised to bring the Minister of Labour, Dr Chris Ngige to participate in the program and clarify the Government's position on both issues.
The Special Adviser queried the rationale of NLC threatening strike on the issue of removal of fuel subsidy when NIGERIA will no squander billions of Naira on subsidy payments while at the same time ensuring availability of petrol at a reasonable price as already the case where fuel is being sold for 86.50 per liter and no subsidy been paid. Their stand(NLC) is totally confusing the Special Adviser summarized but hoped that such action will not be taken as there are reasonable men and women in the Labour Union who will oppose such an unpopular strike.
Asked to take Nigerians into the privacy of the President on his work schedule, he summarized that his schedule is very tight. He starts the day by going through the summaries of daily newspapers and news items as prepared by the Media Team, he reads the physical papers where he searches for more information and goes into meetings with scheduled personnels and retires home in the evening to continue work. He is less distracted by numerous visitors unlike previous administrations where the crowd waiting to see the President were usually unprecedented. He has noticed several times that scheduled persons for the president in his house are usually very few thereby giving the President enough time to work for the interest of Nigerians.
On a final note the Special Adviser promised to arrange for at least Five(5) members of listeners of the Radio program on RC102.3fm to have access to Aso Rock to see the President of the country to encourage him and present some of the feelings of the poor masses on the streets of NIGERIA to him. The Special Adviser promised to liaise with the President's protocol to make it a reality.
The Special Adviser was highly appreciated by the panelists and Nigerians who sees such program as bringing governance and explaining government's policies to the grassroots. It is indeed a big PR for this popular government of PMB. The Special Adviser was also commiserated for the death of his sister that died recently of motor accident along Lagos/ Ibadan Expressway.
