JUST IN: NIGERIA’S COVID-19 CASES RISE TO 26,484 WITH HIGHEST DAILY TOLL OF 790, DEATHS NOW 603

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says Nigeria has recorded 790 cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.

This is the highest daily toll recorded since the index case was confirmed on February 27, 2020.

The NCDC made the announcement in its daily update late Wednesday night.


It noted that, in the last 24 hours, 406 patients were discharged after their recovery from the disease.

But 13 new deaths were also recorded across the country.

According to the centre, Delta recorded the highest number of cases on Wednesday with 166.




Also, Lagos recorded 120 new cases, while Enugu recorded 66 new cases.

Others are FCT-65, Edo-60, Ogun-43, Kano-41, Kaduna-39, Ondo-33, Rivers-32, Bayelsa-29, Katsina-21, Imo-20, Kwara-18, Oyo-11, Abia-10, Benue-6, Gombe-4, Yobe-2, Bauchi-2, Kebbi-2.

So far, a total of 26,484 cases of the disease has been confirmed in Nigeria.

Up to 10,152 patients have recovered while 603 fatalities have been recorded.
