Wike: I Don't Address My Successors And Those Who Worked Under Me, It Would Be Disrespectful -Amaechi

Former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi has refused to respond to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike's claim that the ADC would struggle to gain traction in Rivers State, saying it would be beneath him to trade words with someone who once served under him.

Amaechi in an interview with Symfoni TV declined to respond to the minister. "I do not address my successors in that regard. My commissioners, my chief of staff, all those who worked under me — it would be very disrespectful for you to ask me to respond to them. When God has been good to me, I should respect myself by not speaking against those who worked under me and took directions and directives from me. I will not sit down and talk about them," he said.

Amaechi also addressed the earlier attack on his convoy, expressing gratitude to the Commissioner of Police and the Director of the SSS for deploying security that allowed the gathering to proceed without further incident.

However, he revealed that he had told both officials directly that those who carried out the attack must be held accountable, warning that failure to prosecute the perpetrators would amount to the police taking sides in a political dispute.
