BREAKING: Court Orders Okorocha, Son’s Arrest Over Senate Ticket Dispute With Uzodimma
A court has reportedly ordered the arrest of former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, and his son, Amen Rochas, over allegations involving disputed documents presented in the legal battle for the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial ticket for Imo West.
The development, attributed to a breaking report by ARISE News Television, comes amid the political confrontation between Okorocha and his successor, Governor Hope Uzodimma, over the party’s nomination for the 2027 senatorial election.
Nnamdiabana.com.ng has not independently confirmed the report which was broken by Arise News Television on Friday night.
The controversy arose after Okorocha approached the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking an order compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise him, rather than Uzodimma, as the APC candidate.
In the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1854/2026, Okorocha claimed that he won the party’s May 18 primary with 150,780 votes against Uzodimma’s 102,158 votes.
His son, Amen Rochas, who identified himself as his father’s personal assistant on political matters, deposed to the affidavit supporting the lawsuit.
However, the APC and Uzodimma disputed the figures, maintaining that the governor won the primary with 230,464 votes while Okorocha polled 1,098 votes.
INEC also challenged the authenticity of documents tendered in support of Okorocha’s case. An official of the commission, Gyang Dung, denied signing some of the exhibits submitted by the former governor.
The competing claims have placed the authenticity of the primary election records at the centre of the legal dispute.
